Northern Chautauqua County is very close to the CENTER of the 2024 solar eclipse path of totality. That means that we'll have one of the longest views of the "ring of fire" effect.
Evergreen Outfitters is, weather permitting, offering two separate viewing events. Both are aimed at getting you to a quiet area away from crowds, and both will include an optional bag lunch from our friends at Music for your Mouth just up the street. (Build your own sandwich; vegetarian and gluten-free options are available.)
Both events meet at Evergreen Outfitters at 12:30 pm on April 8.
Cost: $25 for hike/paddle.
Bag Lunch: $12 for sandwich only, or $15 with chips & drink.

SOLAR ECLIPSE PADDLE
Enjoy an unobstructed view of the solar eclipse from the lake! Wind and wave forecast will dictate our choice of Lake Chautauqua or Erie. If the air and/or water are too cold, we'll hike instead! |
SOLAR ECLIPSE HIKE
Hike to a quiet location on a nearby trail for a clear view of the eclipse. We'll marvel at how its light reflects off a pond, how it casts bizarre shadows through the forest canopy, and how forest animals respond. |
