Tom Erlandson Overlook Park: February 11, 2007
The Erlandson Trail was a great place for our Sunday afternoon snowshoe hike. The view from the escarpment, the second highest spot in Chautauqua County, was fantastic. Make a special trip during the winter because with no leaves on the trees, there is almost a 360 degree view as you hike the trail. The one and one-half mile loop was moderately hilly, incorporating an undulating and gradual one hundred foot drop.
At the top of the hill is a pavilion, rest rooms, and two wildlife viewing stations. The facility is maintained by the Chautauqua County Parks Dept.
